Mommy and Me Art (Ages 3-4 with Caregiver)
Exploration in the arts for the very young, including paint, clay, cutting, pasting, and drawing. Ongoing, $38.00/month plus yearly registration, includes materials. Choice of time: Tuesdays 1:30-2:00 p.m. or Saturdays 12:00-12:30 p.m.
Artist's Workshop (ages 9-16)
Here is an opportunity for students to explore, learn, and have fun. This workshop will enable students to experiment with drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, collage, mosaic, weaving, by using a variety of materials and techniques. Emphasis will be on developing specific skills, including drawing from life, composition, use of color, use of form and shadows, and perspective. Demonstrations as well as individual guidance will be provided to help develop confidence and encourage individual ideas and expression. Ongoing, $48.00/month or $17.00/class plus yearly registration, includes materials. Choice of time: Fridays 4:00-5:30 p.m. -or- Saturdays 1:00-2:30 p.m.
Advanced Artist's Workshop (Ages 14-18)
For the serious student, emphasis will be on each individual's development as an artist and continued development of technique and skills. Portfolio review/permission of instructor required. Ongoing, $52.00/month plus yearly registration, includes material. Time: Tuesdays 6:00-7:30 p.m.
Budding Artist's Workshop (Ages 5-8)
For the younger student not quite ready for the "Artist's Workshop," this class introduces concepts of line, shape, color, value, texture, form and space. Students work in various drawing and painting media, as well as sculpture, collage, weaving, and printmaking. Emphasis is on introducing and developing concepts and skills while encouraging individual expression. Demonstrations and individual guidance. Ongoing, $42.00/month or $14.00/class plus yearly registration, includes materials. Choice of time: Mondays, 6:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesdays 5:00-6:00 p.m., or or Thursdays 4:30-5:30 p.m., or Saturdays 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m., or Saturdays 11:00 a.m.-noon
Claymation Movie-Making (Ages 9-16)
Have fun learning to make your own animated films. Students will learn all parts of the process, including creating the story and characters, set design, photography, editing and compilation, synchronizing sound effects, dialog, background music, and finishing the movie complete with titles, credits, transitions, etc. Students have a chance to really be creative as well as learn some important skills, including writing, speaking and acting, organization, teamwork, and computer skills. The students' finished movies are periodically burned onto a DVD so that everyone can enjoy them at home. Ongoing, $55.00/month plus yearly registration fee, materials included. Time: Fridays 4:00-5:30 p.m.
Digital Photography One-day Workshop (Ages 9-16)
This is a special one-day workshop which will cover both technical and artistic aspects of digital photography, including lighting, composition, color, and special effects. Student photographers of any level of experience are welcome to join us, and we will be shooting both indoors and outdoor. Students must bring their own digital cameras. Tuition for this workshop is $30.00. If you are a currently registered Renaissance Kids student (meaning yearly registration fee paid and current or current private lesson student): $25.00.
